MOUNT KILIMANJARO
CLIMBING ROUTES
When one talks about mount Kilimanjaro treking , he means the way one can climb all the way to the top roof of Africa (the highest mountain in Africa) . There are mainly six ways by which one can climb mount Kilimanjaro and these are through the Marangu route, Umbwe route,Machame route,Mweka route and Rongai route.

GILMANS & UHURU PEAK
Gilmans point and Uhuru peak the summit or the highest point which is 5380 metres above sea level.
MARANGU ROUTE
Hereby oce can climb the mountain for five or six days. Normally in these route which is nicknamed the coca-cola route of its simplicity tourists normally sleeps in huts (built in huts) namely Mandara, Horombo and Kibo huts.
It takes 5 - 6 days climbing the mountain using this route.
MACHAME ROUTE
This is the toughest route to the summit and normally it takes six days for one to make it to the summit. There are no built in huts on the way and one has to sleep on tents.

UMBWE ROUTE
The Umbwe route is very similar to the Machame route. It takes six days for the one to make to the summit, there are no biult in huts and this toure is much more tougher than Machame route and it is nick named Whisky route.
RONGAI ROUTE - is second in rank of simplicity following the Marangu route . There are some huts built on the way and it roughly takes six days.
MWEKA ROUTE - This route used to be passable some years back and it was used to the summit but during the recent years the weather has made this route very steep. This being the case it has been banned to climb to the summit through this route. This route is now used for descending.
